The journey of the rugs begins once a year when the alpacas are sheared. After shearing, the wool goes through sorting and washing, after which rug yarn is made in the factory – 100% alpaca wool is spun around a strong jute cord. The rug yarn is made from second-grade wool, which due to its short fibers is not suitable for making other yarns.
The rugs are made in Estonia – carefully handcrafted on looms, where the rug yarn is woven onto a cotton warp.
The rugs are named after the animals living on the Alpaca Farm.
